“I said into the first half watching him tackle, ‘I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy got a red card.’ And I thought his tackle on Geoff [Cameron] was a tackle to hurt.”–Houston Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear on New York Red Bulls defender Carlos Johnson after the two teams faced off Saturday night at Robertson Stadium. Johnson, playing in just his second MLS match, received a straight red card for a 78th minute tackle on Cameron. He previously tussled with Stuart Holden, among others.
Fortunately for New York, Houston was unable to capitalize on the man advantage and the game finished in a scoreless draw. For the Red Bulls match report and player ratings go here.
