Weekly update: April 30, 2011

The Revolution have announced a partnership with Taylor Twellman and the Revolution Academy, offering summer programs led by the Revs’ all time leading goal scorer.

University of Mobile head coach and Sudbury native Peter Fuller has joined the Revolution coaching staff as the full time reserve team coach.

Revolution goalkeeper Tim Murray and striker Ilija Stolica have been loaned to USL PRO league club FC New York, based in Queens, New York.  Both players will be available for FC New York’s home opener this weekend.

Revolution Academy Players commit to college

In the wake of the national attention garnered by Revolution’s youngest ever player, Diego Fagundez, the team’s Academy continues to make headlines as The New England Revolution announced today that six members of the Revs’ youth teams have committed to play soccer at the collegiate level.

Following in the footsteps of 2011 NCAA Collegiate Cup Hero and former Revs’ youth player Scott Caldwell (Akron), Cameron Bielski (Dover, Mass. – University of New Hampshire), Cole Denormandie (Lincoln, Mass. – University of Cincinnati), Matthew Keys (Norfolk, Mass. – University of Massachusetts at Amherst) and Sean MacDonald (Candia, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University) of the U18 team and Yannick Kabala (Manchester, N.H.- Southern New Hampshire University) and high school junior Mitchell Taintor (Storrs, Conn. – Rutgers University) of the U16 team have all announced their commitments to college soccer programs.

Denormandie and Keys were both named NSCAA All-American at the end of the high school soccer season this past fall. In addition, Denormandie, Keys, Bielski and Taintor also earned NSCAA High School All-Region I (New England) honors.
