Wizards top Revs, 3-1

Posted on 26 October 2008 by ASN Staff

With the assistance of two red cards, the Kansas City Wizards clinched the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference by beating the New England Revolution 3-1. Both teams played a clean game of possession until Claudio Lopez fell lightly in the box under a touch by Gabriel Badilla. Although Chris Albright remained the last man standing, referee Kevin Stott decided Badilla interfered with a clear scoring opportunity, sent him off the field and gave Lopez a penalty, which he converted in the 28th minute.
