Former Union Player Update: Fred registers first point of 2011, Chacho follows suit

In Major League Soccer

Andrew Jacobson (FC Dallas) – Jacobson started and played 72 minutes in a 3-2 loss to the Portland Timbers at JELD-WEN

Chris Seitz (FC Dallas) – dressed but did not play in FC Dallas’ 3-2 to the Portland Timbers

Alejandro Moreno (Chivas USA) – started and played 90 minutes in a 0-0 deadlock between Chivas USA and the Vancouver Whitecaps at Empire Field

Shavar Thomas (Sporting KC) – played 15 plus minutes in a 1-0 loss to the Columbus Crew, came on after the ejection of Julio Cesar and promptly received a 76th minute caution for a reckless foul

Fred (DC United) – started and played 84 minutes in a convincing 3-0 win over Toronto FC in Toronto, assisted the last goal of the day, a Chris Pontius strike in the 73rd minute, it was Fred’s first point of the new MLS season and his first point in his second stay with DC United

Shea Salinas (Vancouver) – did not dress for Vancouver’s 0-0 tie against Chivas USA at Empire Field, also did not dress or play in the Reserves’ 1-1 tie the next day, was listed as probable for a right knee sprain

Brian Perk (Los Angeles) – dressed but did not play in the Galaxy’s 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire

In NASL

Eduardo Coudet (Fort Lauderdale) – started and went the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 tie with Minnesota, equalized on a 90th minute penalty kick conversion after Brian Shriver was taken, had a good look at goal a couple minutes before that too, it was Coudet’s first goal for the club

Cristian Arrieta (Fort Lauderdale) – did not play in the Strikers 1-1 tie with Minnesota

Toni Stahl (Fort Lauderdale) – did not play in the Strikers 1-1 tie with Minnesota

Brad Knighton (Carolina) – started and played 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over the Montreal Impact, made several saves

Nick Zimmerman (Carolina) – started and played the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over the Montreal Impact, was part of the play that led to Carolina’s first goal

Foreign-Based

Michael Orozco Fiscal (San Luis FC) – has yet to surface as San Luis FC dropped a 2-1 decision to Toluca

David Myrie (Limon FC) – dressed but did not play for Limon FC as they tied Herediano 2-2, it was their second time playing Herediano in a week, Myrie has recovered from an injury that kept him out of previous games

    I really like the Minn. Stars and Ft. Lauderdale Jerseys. I hope NASL can succeed, this is a great place for guys to continue to develop. I think they need to start their own academies like MLS teams. That should bring in some revenue as well increase the fan base. Downs the new commissioner of NASL is a smart guy so that will help.
