MLS players set to begin strike at midnight, March 23

Major League Soccer players have voted to begin their strike at midnight on Tuesday March 23, ASN has learned. This information differs slightly from the SoccerByIves report earlier today, which said the players would strike Monday and means all of March 22 can be used for negotiating, if necessary. Presumably, the weekend could as well. The Washington Post’s Soccer Insider reported that union representatives from all 16 MLS clubs “are tentatively planning to meet in Washington in the coming days to discuss the status of the collective bargaining agreement talks and the possibility of a strike.”
