Revolution look to dominate Colorado

Commerce City, CO August 15, 2007 — (ASN) The Colorado Rapids [5-9-6; 21 points] host the New England Revolution [10-4-6] on Thursday night at 7 PM MT at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO.

The Rapids need help to get into the MLS playoffs as they sit six points behind the Crew. New England looks to add distance to the highly competitive MLS Eastern Conference, with what could be an easy win for them against the offensively anemic Rapids. The Revolution are six points clear of DC United.

The Rapids have won once in their last eleven matches. Last week, they beat the Houston Dynamo 1-0, when Houston midfielder Wayne DeRosario scored an own goal. The Rapids returned to their familiar 4-4-2 formation after several attempts at the popular 3-5-2 formation. Playing the 3-5-2 did not help the Rapids goalscoring – they average less than 0.5 goals per match.

This is the first regular season match between the two teams. Colorado is 14-10-4 all-time against New England.
