The Columbus Crew return to action with an added weapon this Saturday against F.C. Dallas in Crew Stadium. After a strong start to the first half of the season, which currently sees the Black-And-Gold sitting at third place in the East, the Crew acquired long-time New England Revolution scorer Pat Noonan to bolster their push for the playoffs.

Noonan is returning from a six month stint with Norway’s Aalesunds FK but is best known for his work with the Revolution. In New England Noonan was a force, notching 37 goals and 29 assists in 119 regular season appearances.

The Crew shipped their first round pick in the 2009 Superdraft, allocation money and allocation spot to the Revolution for Noonan.

While Noonan will make his debut for the Crew will be without the services of gifted midfielder Emmanuel Ekpo who is on duty with Nigeria’s national team. Columbus’s Robbie Rogers and Dallas’s Dax McCarty will return from Beijing, but their playing status for Saturday is still to be determined.

Dallas and Columbus both haven’t played in nearly two weeks. This is the first game for the Crew since an August 2 match with Houston, which they lost 2-0. F.C. Dallas’s last match was a 2-0 win against Toronto on August 3.
