Revs Schedule Update

Posted on 11 March 2011 by Hank Alexandre

The New England Revolution have announced two changes to their schedule for later this season.

The Philadelphia Union will now face the Revs in Foxboro on Sunday, July 17, at 7 p.m. ET, one day later than originally scheduled.  This change is being made to accommodate an international friendly, featuring the Revolution, which will be announced at a later date.

The other schedule change moves FC Dallas’ visit to Gillette Stadium up one day to Saturday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Updated: Revs kick off season with busy April on the road

Posted on 10 February 2011 by Hank Alexandre

Major League Soccer finally released the full, league-wide schedule for 2011 earlier today, and the Revolution will spend most of the early part of the spring on the road.

The Revs’ first two games, both in March, were made public weeks ago, but due to lengthy negotiations between the television networks and MLS, the full schedule was not finalized until earlier this week.

The Revolution’s season kicks off in Los Angeles, Sunday March 20th, against the LA Galaxy, and then follows up with the home opener at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro on March 26th.

New England then will face 6 opponents in April, with three games in 8 days, starting with a match at home against MLS newcomers, the Portland Timbers on April 2.   The Revs will then travel out to the league’s other new team, the  Vancouver Whitecaps, for a game on Wednesday April 6th,  and then come back home in time for a game against Salt Lake in Foxborough on Saturday the 9th.  The Revolution will finish up April with a trip to Houston the following Saturday, April 16th, then travel back to Gillette to face Kansas City on Saturday the 23rd, before closing out the month with a trip to Los Angeles again to face Chivas USA on April 30th.

The Revolution will have a much lighter travel schedule in May, with three games at home and only one on the road. The Revs then have 5 games each in both June and July, followed by another 6 games in August, before closing out the season with 3 games in September and another 3 in October.

All of the Revolution’s games will be televised in HD locally through Comcast SportsNet, with the exception of the July4th game against Salt Lake, which will be broadcast as part of a double header on ESPN.

(PLEASE NOTE: the schedule at this time does not include any friendlies or exhibition matches, but may be included in the schedule at a later date.  For the full schedule, please visit http://revolutionsoccer.net/schedule)
